New Pricing Structure for September 1, 2012
The Fat Ewe Bed and Breakfast is BRAND NEW! We are just getting underway. The Grand Opening was in March and the kinks are out for the most part. All we need is EWE!
Good News! There are 2 new projects at the Fat Ewe. One is fencing the Bed and Breakfast yard so that wandering ducks and big dogs are out of your hair and the second is the installation of a a third sink and hand wash station in the kitchen. Our new permit now allows us to serve meals other than breakfast and cater sandwiches and baking for meetings, parties or retreats. Yay!
There are 4 dogs living/working on the farm. If you are not comfortable with dogs (most of them are young and have not learned all their manners quite yet), they can be restrained. Just let us know ahead. Thank ewe.
We have several options to offer for your stay at The Fat Ewe. This is a non-smoking facility. Alcohol is not permitted except in the privacy of your room.
Please note, this is also a working farm with livestock, livestock guardian dogs that may bark at night, roosters the may crow early in the AM and animals that baa, bleat, honk, moo. cluck and oink. The home is quiet and well insulated with no opening windows to the farm side. Friendly dogs will greet you at the gate. Call if you wish them restrained.
This is not a hotel/motel and as such, we are not able to offer full time living accommodations or long term stays at a discounted rate. We welcome inquiries: the bed and breakfast is licensed to serve all meals including catering and baking, does not offer guest laundry or cooking facilities, and is rented by the night. For those living away from home, the bed and breakfast is ideal in that it provides every comfort of home, with the exception of television or internet (you can tether your cell phone to your laptop if you have a data package though). There is no discount should you choose not to partake in either the Continental or gourmet breakfast. Other meals must be pre ordered and are charged separately. Requests welcome! Breakfast is included in the room rates.
The main house is the bed and breakfast accommodation.A gourmet breakfast is served between 8 and 9 am in the main kitchen. There are three bedrooms, the master on the main with a private bathroom , and two bedrooms on the lower floor (may share the bathroom if both rooms are occupied). The lower floor is a full daylight, walk out basement with two bedrooms and the family room designated for guest use. The whole house rents for $375. per night and does not include breakfast or any meals. We are licensed to sleep 8 and have individual beds for 5 in 3 bedrooms.
The bunk bedroom has a double/double hand crafted aspen wood bed and can sleep four, two adults on the lower bunk and two children up. It is the most reasonable in price and the most basic in comfort. The cost is by the bed, so for the double bed sleeping one person it is $98.00 and for double occupancy and a second person in the top bunk is 25.00.. Access to amenities is on the same floor and breakfast is served upstairs. A third person in the room is an additional $25.00 and the fourth is free.
Pets are allowed in the LOWER FLOOR bedrooms ONLY. There is a $25.00 charge for each pet. Pets CANNOT ROAM FREE. We have livestock guardians whose job it is to keep the farm safe. They do not understand other dogs running free. We do have kennels to borrow and pens for them if you want them outside. Please use a leash otherwise and clean up after your animals. Thank you.So far we have had success with visiting dogs and cats. After a brief initiation period, the farm dogs were fine with the visitors.

Robes and slippers to borrow, coffee or tea, and some snacks, as well as breakfast are included for your convenience. Nominal charges may apply to additional beverages and snacks. We ask that you help us conserve water by hanging and reusing your towels if you are staying more than a day,and that all due care and consideration of property and privacy of other guests be exercised at all times. If your dogs are barking, you may be asked to kennel them in your vehicle for the sake of other guests. Thank you for the courtesy in this matter. If you do not need something that is free, then why not leave it for the next guest who does? The farm runs on a septic system and harsh chemicals are never used. Nothing can be disposed of in the system as well. We take all plastic, paper, cardboard, newsprint, metal cans and glass to St. Paul to recycle. You can help by not contaminating the recyclables with food waste or other things our hands would not want to sort through and for this we thank you.
